The two last features of the Team Fortress 2 Heavy update is out, and the keywords are Sandvich and Arenas.

The Sandvich is the first unlockable weapon upgrade for the Heavy update. Well, it is not actually a weapon but a healing item. For eating the sandvich (will i get used to writing it this way?) you will be healed 120 health points. The bad thing is that eating the sandvich will take four seconds, making you an easy target for that amount of time, but a great substitusion when there’s no healers around. The other bad thing is that you will have to leave your shotgun at home, making you more vulnerable to snipers and other bastards that deserve some lead in their stomach. You have unlimited supply of sandviches.

The second feature, and very interesting I must add, is the Arena game type. This is completely new, and takes place on small maps. The teams start, and the team surviving the longest wins. You can also win by capturing a capture point in the middle. This means it will be very close to the gameplay you see in games like Counter-strike. This first time you will see five types of Arena-maps, two complete new called Lumberyard and Ravine, and three remakes of the maps Well, Granary and Badlands.

As you see, a lot to look forward to in the new Heavy update.

Finally we get news about another update about a class in Team Fortress 2, and this time it’s Heavy. Not know yet when we will get this update live, but absolutely some interesting news for the TF2 gamer.

A new community map will be added, called cp_steel. As you probably know, this will be a control point map. One of the very interesting features is that there will be a new feature for this map new to TF2, and that is that when you capture a control point, the map itself will change, making new route, and remove old routes. This will give another tactical challenge to the player.

A second map that is a payload map will also be added. This one is called Badwater Basin. It will have more open space and less chokepoints than the previous payload map Goldrush.

One of the new items for the Heavy will be the Killing Gloves of Boxing. It will be a melee weapon, and when you kill someone with it you will get a five second boost of guarateed critical hits. This boost can be used also with other weapons of you decide to change after killing some with the gloves.

Another 35 achievements is of course added to the game, and some of the highlights are “Eat 100 sandviches” (?), “Kill an enemy with a critical punch” and “Get 1000 assists”. Quite a few hard ones here, so be prepared to fight for your achievements! (as allways…)

The second unlockable weapon is a new minigun, called Natascha. It will have 25 % less firepower than your old gun, but will give you a 100 % chance to slow down the target on hit. Very useful for those bastard Scouts running around.

Still two more features to be unlocked, so stay tuned for more information about the Heavy update.

There has been a lot of rumors about the next major update to TF2, and a fake image of what looks like a screenshot of the future spy update website has been a big hit. We can now tell you that this is not a real update, but a hoax by ka anin. It is actually revealed at the bottom of the page itself.

Anyway, maybe Valve will steal some ideas from this, or they will just ignore it. You can check it out here. Quite a nice prank if you ask me. According to the TF-blog, even some of Valves own developers was tricked by this.

The next update we have been waiting for is now live, the pyro update. In addition to new weapons, archivements and tweaks for the pyro, there are two new maps.

The new maps are called cp_fastlane and ctf_turbine. Fastlane is a control point map with fire control points, while Turbine is, as you have guessed, a capture the flag map.

Before we go through the new weapons, there is also a new twist to the old flamethrower. With the alt-fire key, the flamethrower will produce a blast of compressed air that will both blow opponents away and change direction of projectiles. This means you can kill soldiers with their own rockets!

The three new weapons is the flare gun, the backburner and axtinguisher. The Flare Gun replaces the Shotgun and allows you to ignite enemies at a long range. The Backburner will replace the traditional Flamethrower, and is suited for those who want to ambush the opponents. It guaratees that any hit from behind will be critical and it also gives you another 50 health. Last we have the Axtinguisher what will replace the traditional Axe. It will work great with the flare gun, since it gives critical hits when people are on fire. Just remember that hits on people that aren’t on fire will work worse than before.

Some of the new achivements you can start trying to achieve:

Combined Fire: Use your shotgun to finish off 20 players you’ve ignited.

Next of Kindling: Ignite an enemy, and the Medic healing him.

Baptism by Fire: Force 10 burning enemies to jump into water.

OMGWTFBBQ: Kill an enemy with a taunt.

Clearcutter: Kill 6 people with your axe in one life.

Arsonist: Destroy 50 Engineer buildings.

Pyromancer: Do 1 million points of total fire damage.

Hot Potato: Reflect 100 projectiles with your compressed air blast.
